Hi, I want to thank All of you wonderful people out there for your recent letters of encouragment. One year ago when I had this surgery these boards and all of you were a great help in making this journey possible and easier. I was in the hospital for almost a month with complications and my wife would come home and post/vent her frustration and everyone always responded with such helpful and comforting words. She will always be greatful for that. This is a wonderful site filled with GREAT people, the service and comfort that it provides is uncalculable.Keep up the good work. I know that I have become a poster child for WLS telling everyone I can what a wonderful thing it has been for my life, even with the complications.I never in my wildest dreams thought that I would lose 200lbs in the first year let alone EVER!!! Hi Everyone, Tommorow I will the one year anniversary of my operation. I don't know where it has gone. I have lost 200 pounds. Yesterday I weighed in at 219 down from 420 the morning of Surgery. This has made such a diffrence in my life. I can do so many things now that I could not do a year ago, like sit in a booth at a restraunt or go to walmart and pick up a shirt and a pair of jeans. I think that this has been the best thing that I have ever done for myself.I can now get down on the floor and play with my grandchildren and they are already looking forward to going to the local Great America in the summer because "Now you can fit on the rides".I want to wish all those that are having surgery or that have just had this done the best of luck and this will open a whole new world for all of you. I had some complications for the first month and wondered if I had done the right thing. Now I look back and I would do it all over again complications and all. Tommorow My wife and I and our closest friends are going out to celebrate my first year, how fitting that it is Fat Tuesday!!! Good Luck and God Bless you All!!! Chris
