Hi Everyone! It has been a while since I have posted, but I was busy out living my new life! As of last night, 6/16/03, I have lost 92 pounds since 12/20/02! Woohoo! I feel fantastic, have dropped from a size 26 to a 14 so far, and do not have hanging skin! I am very pleased! I had grown my hair out, but have since chopped it off...seems a chic short crop goes better with the new "ATTITUDE" that I have now! I am learning that you don't have to have long hair to feel sexy! Anyway, softball is loads more fun, I am a LIFEGUARD now (swimsuit and all), and I am working out at the gym! My BMI has dropped from 46.7 to 31.4. I am almost out of the OBESE catagory! Well, good luck to all who have upcoming surgeries and to those fighting for approval! Life is so good now...

Hi Everybody! Just got home from the hospital...again. Anyway, I do have strep throat. I went in on Sunday afternoon with a temp 102.7. My throat still hurts terribly! On Sunday, they did another series of leak tests on me...ewww. Tons of x-rays too. Monday brought more x-rays and tests. I am the human pin cushion...I was stuck 8 times for IV's. I am a very hard stick apparently so I am very tender and bruised. The doctors wanted to be sure that the fever was due to the strep and not due to a leak or block. Definitely strep, no leaks, no blocks, healing very well. By the way...I have lost 19 pounds since my surgery on Dec 20!!!! Ang

Hi Ang, Merry Christmas, Wish you could be here with us in Florida. Tell MaMa hello and Merry Christmas. I just finished spreading good chear around the tree for your little sisters. Its 1:42am christmas morning and Santa was thinking of you. I just wanted to wish you a blessed Christmas and to let you know your presence, not presents will be missed this year. Love always, Dad

Angela, I am from the no. ky. area and had open Rny on 12/4. My daughter had lap on 12/4. So we are going through this together. I sure hope you have a speedy recovery. It sounds as if you are doing well so far. Will continue to say prayers for you.....have a peaceful Christmas

Hello Everyone! I thought my angel had posted for me, but it seems she has not...so here I am! My surgery was Friday, Dec. 20th and I was up showering, entertaining visitors and walking on Saturday morning! I am learning quickly what and how much I can tolerate of water, food, and everything in general. Dr. Gersin wanted to send me home on Sunday because I was doing so well, but I told him I did not feel well enough. I came home today (Monday) and have been taking it easy most of the day. My surgery was laparascopic so I had 6 incisions. The 5 small ones do not hurt at all, but the larger inch and a half one smarts quite a bit. Its like a paper cut that someone poured alcohol over! Very annoying, but not a deep muscle pain, which I am grateful for. Feeling gaseous...but I am told that is a good thing. I did the unthinkable and stepped on a scale at the hospital that I came across during one of my walks...I have not lost anything. I was disgusted by this at first until I really thought about it. I have been pumped full of fluids for 24 hours a day for the last 3 days! Of course I would not lose anything yet! Well, the Roxicette pain killer is kicking in, thank God, so I am getting sleepy.
