Well, I did it! It's been 9 days since my surgery. Everyday I get stonger. I still feel like someone was jumping on my stomach, but the pain is barable. I only take pain medicine before I go to bed. Before I go any further, I want to thank you for the encouragement and prayers. The 1st time I got on to check my e-mail was just about 4 days ago and when I read all your messages, it brought me to tears. You humble me. I'm truly blessed with the support. The surgery went well. Dr. Eric Vaughn is a wonderful surgeon, has a wonderful personallity and is very caring. I highly recommend him. The nurses were great and some of them even had the surgery! My hospital stay was very good. This truly isn't the easiest way to loose weight, it is a last resort, as we still need to do the work and I only recommend this surgery if all else has failed and if you have health risks. This is forever. I'm very committed and plan on working hard. The after surgery went much better than what I though it would be. The pain isn't as bad as I thought it would be. Really, I mean that! I hated the Clear Liquid Portion of the after program! I made it and now I'm happly on Full Liquids for the next 2 weeks. That's going much better. I walk 30 minutes a day, (not all at once, 10-15 minutes at a time and actually I'm enjoying the walks. A few days ago I started walking out side with my little doggie and she just loves it! My husband is the best! He is very supported and is taking really good care of me. He walks with me too! He said, he'll probably loose a little weight too! My church family is bring in meals for my husband and son to help out. This is greatly appreciated, as my husband is back to work and there are things he has to help me with when he gets home. I still can't quite make the step over the tub for my shower yet, so I need help with that. I gained 20 lbs. from the IV's in the hospital. I have since then lost that 20 lbs and an extra 10 lbs. in the last 9 days. Wow, I didn't believe it was going to go that fast. I'm using the powdered protien in my meals. It's not to bad. My favorite is to start out the day with the Sugar-Free Hot Chocolate with a double scoop of protien mixed with 1 cup of 1% milk. It takes me a hour to drink it, but it also makes you thirsty to start getting you liquids in. I find I can only eat about 1/4 cup at a time. I don't get hungry, so I'm not eating as well as I should yet, but I keep plugging away at it. I see Dr. Eric Dec. 23rd and the Diatition. Sometimes I get a little down and a little emotional. I guess this is due to my body going in all directions. This usally comes in the evening, but it's impoving. I have good days most of the time. Well, my dear friends, I wish you a Merry Christmas! I'll talk to you later. Rose
