David Greenbaum

"My first impression of Dr. Greenbaum was wonderful !! He is everything that people told me about him. He explained everything to me(benefits and risks)and wasn't afraid to answer any questions that I had. I try to go to the support group meetings that he has twice a month and my impression hasn't changed one bit. In fact, it has only gotten better !! As for his assistant, Debra, she is one of the most funniest, tell-it-like-it-is kind of people ! She knows her job and she knows it well !! She will go the extra mile to get you approved. What you should be prepared for are two things... (things I didn't know before I went.) 1.) Be prepared to lose some weight before the surgery. He wants you to lose something and the heavier you are, the more you need to lose. It helps him get to your stomach better. You lose weight, your liver shrinks and gets out of his way. It makes it easier for him to operate. 2.) You have to pay a one time fee of $750 which is for the support group meetings. It's a lifetime membership but you need to have it paid before your actual surgery. Now, this covers you for life and it helps them pay for things like holiday parties, (Christmas, Halloween etc.) It also covers trips they take and when they hand out paperwork. Like, recipes, calenders, information packets etc. So I think it's well worth it ! It just would have been nice to know beforehand. The aftercare is wonderful as well because of the support groups meetings, you're always aware of any new info that comes along. On a scale from 1 to 10, Dr. G gets a "20" !!!! "
