Debi is having a tough time right now and has been since surgery. She sure could use some prayers. She has been very sick & weak. Today she was admitted to Emory and will be there until they discover what is going on. She has not been able to eat anything for sometime. They are doing tests. She is sedated and has an IV. Please pray for her. She has been a wonderful friend and I would like to see her strong and healthy very soon. James, Karen & Katy Ward

I'M ALIVE! Hi all! Well, I made it! I'm so excited to be in this place in this time of my life. I have to admit that the pain has been almost overwhelming at times, but gets easier to handle every day. Thank goodness for Lortab! I'm still very excited about this surgery and this new chance to start over. My friend, Ron, calls it a "do over". Well, I have my "do over" and I'm going to do it right this time. Thanks so much to all of you for your prayers and well wishes. I feel like you've all become a huge part of my new life and cherish each and everyone of you!

Talked w/Debi Friday night and she sounded really great. She sounded like she hadn't even been through surgery. It was hard to believe. Friday night was Danny, her husband's b'day, and the kids & grandkids were over. It sounds like they have all been very supportive of Debi in doing this and didn't have any cake. Danny was presented a big candy bar (to eat later) from the grandkids and the group ate pizza. According to Debi, she wasn't the least bit interested in any of it. Received an email from her today and she is doing well on the broth, jello, etc and has lost 5lbs. (I probably gained that.) To all the well-wishes and support, she greatly appreciates it. Talked w/Debi earlier today, she sounds sooo much better than yesterday and so much like her positive upbeat self. She expects to go home later today and it sounds like she can't wait to get in her own bed to rest. She received for breakfast broth and red jello, she was thrilled from the sound of it. She also had the "leak" test prior to that and all came out well. Thanks to all you are keeping an eye on her progress. Happy Thanksgiving, James, Karen & Katy Ward

I talked to Debi earlier today. It was a rough night and a rough day. She said that she wasn't expecting the great amount of pain (and she's had a few surgeries). She said her mouth was so dry her lips were sticking and she couldn't talk very well. She was desperate for something to drink. She was somewhat down in her voice, but still trying to stay positive and hopeful. Please help her by giving her some positive words and prayers. We will be praying for her a very restful night and a better tomorrow. Love, James, Karen and Katy.

Debi had her surgery this morning. Dan, her husband, called me at work today around 10:30am and reported that she went through the surgery well and will probably be in the hospital through Thursday. Debi has been really excited about this change in her life. I talked w/her last night and she was a little nervous about surgery and very ready to get on with better health. Debi and I have been friends for something around 16 years. We started out working together and just always seemed to click. I am really excited and looking forward to the many changes in her life to come. She's a real young-at-heart kind of person and so very creative. I gave her tons of my smaller clothes and can't wait to be jealous of her wearing them. I hope that her and Danny are look forward to the very best years of their lifes together and I hope I am always included in her circle of friends. She also has three very adorable little grandchildren, so I am certain she can't wait to be more involved with them. God bless, James, Karen & Katy Ward
