Surgery was January 16, 2001 - Surgery took longer than expected, I had an infected Gall Bladder that had to be removed and cleaned up. The whole proceedure took almost 8 hours. This was totally unexpected and took my surgeon by complete suprise. When the e-ray was done (about a month prior to surgery) gall stones were present, so he was going to remove the gall bladder anyway. I wasn't experiencing any pain so there wasn't anything to complain about. Dr. Oh was amazed by the extent of the infection. He couldn't believe that I didn't have any pain.

Hi~~ Just wanted to wish you ALL the best with your upcoming surgery. I'm 5 days post op and know the first couple of days are gonna be rough on you....in fact up until Saturday morning in the hospital, I couldn't believe I'd put myself thru such hell (nose tube, IV, etc). The soreness hasn't been a big issue for me yet---wish I could tolerate the Lortab pain med that the hospital started me on but had to give that up for liquid ibuprofen (tastes TERRIBLE!!). My advice for anyone after surgery: as soon as the doc/nurses give you leave to walk, do as much of it as possible. It'll get you home quicker. Lord bless you and keep you as safe & comforable as possible.
