Happy 3rd Re-Birthday Chris! God Bless! :o)

Today is my 3rd WLS anniversary! I do have to say that I am now living every day to the fullest and having a ball!! Since my surgery, I have lost 150 pounds and I am still losing inches. I work out at Curves for Women 3-6 times a week and that is amazing!! I used to hate exercising, but now I look forward to it, in fact, I am now working as a floor guard at the rollerskating rink I grew up at and I am keeping up with kids!!!!! Also since my surgery, I have adopted 3 children (boys ages 2, 3, and 6) (I had adopted my first child before my surgery, she's now 9) and I am working on adopting an infant right now. There is no way I would have ever had the energy it takes to raise these kids or the self esteem to get me through the adoption process so many times before I had the surgery. I would say to anyone considering WLS that it has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. I am living now, not merely trying to make it through the days. The biggest thing I have had to overcome has been the emotional aspect of losing weight. Dealing with stresses (both good and bad) is a totally different ball game now. I can no longer eat my stresses away. I have had to learn other ways of dealing with daily life. It hasn't always been easy, but it is a whole lot easier than feeling the way I felt when I weighed 340 pounds. At least now I feel like there is not situation I can't handle. I can't get over the difference in how I am treated in public. I'm no longer afraid of someone judging me as soon as they see my size. I know that I can't expect weight loss to solve all of my problems, but it sure makes it easier for me to work them out now that I don't have the self esteem and other obesity issues holding me down. I want everyone who is considering WLS to know that they can email me anytime, I love to help people and if telling my story or sharing my experience can do that then I will be happy to share it.
