Well, I am 3 weeks post-op and doing great! I have lost 21 lbs. to put me at 220. Yipppeeee! I will not see Dr. Miles again until I am 3 months post-op. Since surgery I have not taken a single diabetic pill. My glucose levels have just kept going down. I have started adding meat (not red) back into my diet. Boy, was I missing it! I may only be able to get a few bites down, but I savor every bit of them. Subzone makes a great chicken salad. I was very surprised. I am also finding out that certain foods I really seemed to like before, aren't as tantalizing anymore. Well, beside that there isn't much more to say. I do want to thank my wonderful husband for how supportive and caring he has been through this whole thing. There is also one other person I would like to thank; her name is Terri Hansen. Before surgery, I had two people that had volunteered to be my angels, but not much came of it. I was in the hospital the night of the local support group met, and I thought someone would come up and visit, but I was wrong. Anyway, I became familiar with Terri only about a week before my surgery. She called me asking me questions on the process. We talked for quite awhile. She called me a few times more before my surgery date too. When I was in the hospital, she would call up ask me how I was doing and feeling. She always kept it respectfully short, which I admired. I really didn't feel like talking on the phone too much while I was there. When I got home, she called and checked on me too. I finally got to where I was feeling a little more talkative and guess who was one of the very first people I called. I have never met Terri face to face, but someday we will. Even if she wasn't my so-called official angel, she WAS!!! I hope I can repay her kindness and caring by being there for her when her day comes. Thanks for listening! Tammy
