Hi this is Sarah's Mom. Sarah had her surgery Friday morning as planned and went to Surgical ICU for “over-night”. That night she spiked a fever so they did blood work and x-rays and started her on antibiotics. It was two days later before we were able to move to a regular room. She had to keep her NG tube until Tuesday (MISERABLE!) and they had to keep moving her IV around due to irritating the veins. Wednesday, everything was going great, the tube was gone, IV was gone, off pain medication, walking and breathing well, started clear liquid diet and we thought she was going home that evening. Last night she started with a lot of cramping and running to the bathroom every 2 hours. This morning when she tried to eat her broth and juice for breakfast, she started throwing up and having green drainage through her drain in her side. That scared her! The nurse told her not to try any more fluids, and they have had to restart her IV and give her medicine to control the pain and nausea. We are waiting for the Doctor to come evaluate her again. Sarah is in a lot of pain and scared and needs all your support.
