University of Arkansas Medical Center

"My experience with UAMS was very positive. You must remember that it is a teaching hospital, so expect many DR's coming to your room and examining you. But know that your surgeon makes the final decision about ALL of your medical care. Also, UAMS has something they call Primier Rooms. There is additinal chg for a Primier Room but for the additinal money you must pay (and it is not alot of $$) You get a larger room on a floor with wonderful nurses. Your larger room has a couch or bed where your husband/mother who ever can stay with you and help in your recovery! That benefit to me was such a blessing."

Daniel Galvin

"My first appointment/eval with Dr Galvin was on 4/21/03. There was about a 2 month wait to get an appointment. Dr Galvin's clinic is at UAMC and my only complaint is the parking! UAMC is located in an older part of Little Rock and the parking is bad. The first person I met upon arrival was Ginger, Dr Galvin's assistant (sorry, don't know if she is an RN)what ever her title, she is an ANGEL! I am calling her many times a week relative to this insurance thing and she has been great. A big thanks to you, Ginger. I hope Dr pays you well...LOL. Anyway, Dr Galvin is a very pleasant man and he too has alot of patience as I had many, many questions that first visit(I work in healthcare, the question thing is a job-hazard). Dr Galvin was very complete in his exam and his review of the WLS that he calls "a tool" to help you reach a normal weight. I could not believe that he spent 1 hour plus with me that first visit. "
