C. Daniel Procter, Sr.

"Wow! Does this doc have it going on. I attended a meeting last night (August 1, 2000) to learn about the program and was very surprised at what I encountered. This is a doctor who cares. No Doubt! The program that he and others have designed for surgery candidates is unbelievable. The psychology portion is not just an evaluation like most programs, this one takes a person through evals, workshops and discussions to better prepare you for the new experiences you are going to have. There were two doctors and one coordinator who spoke and I can say that they all had one common goal; to insure that you are a candidate that will be successful throughout the entire cycle of this life changing event. At one point Dr. Proctor was asked if he auto-removed gall bladders like many doctors do, his response was that if the organ is healthy, then leave it alone. His reason for this was that why should he introduce more risk into an already risky surgery (any major ones are) by removing an additional organ. Makes sense to me. If the gall bladder goes bad later, it can be removed with LAP. This is the kind of concern and experience that I want in my doctor. I went to work this morning and told a co-worker (he is looking at the surgery also) that he should go see the doctor he has chosen primarily and then make sure he goes to a meeting with Dr. Proctor to compare and then make his decision. I’ll bet he changes his mind and goes with Dr. Proctor’s program. I know I look forward to Dr. Proctor doing my surgery in the near future. "
