-9/05/04- w 150 I am eating normal everyday stuff now but normal to me now is not Mc Donalds, Dominos, or so on anymore. Normal to me now is home cooked meals. I am still takeing a second look at myself in the mirror wondering who that person is staring back at me. I can actualy fit in a size 10 my god I was a a 24 just 5 months ago I have almost lost 100 lbs I was 244 when I started this jouney 6 more lbs it will be a even 100 lbs lost. I am actualy loveing myself now and enjoy the way I look and I feel so much better phisicaly and mentaly about myself than I did even as a child. Now that comeing from me at the ripe age of 30 I can't believe it myself that I do actualy like me now I was my own worst enemy. Now I am my own Best friend.

I now weigh 169 lbs. I just broke that 170 mark. Ohh it feels so good to wear a swim suit this summer. It's going to be in the 90's today. Im about 3 months post op now. I been eating mostly salads and fresh fruits like watermellon, canalope, honeydew, strawberrys, and rasberries. They go down so well, my salads consist of ramain lettus, fresh parmissian, cherry tomatoes, ceasar dressing, and 1 avacado. I eat chicken alot home made baked in the oven slowly is best makes it easier to go down for some reson aot of the time i try to eat it when cooked any other way feels like it is stuck in my throat when it's not. I can eat beef jerkey 98% fat free pepperd one little at a time for some of my protien, I have also had no problems drinking non fat milk. My main source of excersize is walking lots of walking. I do other things occationaly like lift weights do crunches I can only do about 20 but it's better than none. I got to work on my muscle tone not just looseing the fat and tightning the skin. There are so many things I can do now that I couldn't before. I wouldn't trade this for nothing and I would recomend it to anyone who was going threw what I was to take the same steps I have. We need to use this as a tool to learn to eat to live not live to eat like I was before my surgery. And a word of advice fast food is our enemy it is not our freind it will eat us alive please go see super sized the movie it is about Mc Donalds. Don't think Burger King or KFC is any good either they are just as bad and foget about Jack N Box That one is the worst of all. You are better off going to a all you can eat restaraunt eating healthy foods make healthy choices I went into one reently they even had sugar free puddings out for desert we have to rally more restaraunts and fast food places to bring healthier chioces to the counter like Minute Maid Light as and alternative to soda pop and bottled water at the theaters help fill out those costomer comments and sugestion forms around your neighborhood. Love N Light. Tina Marie

Well, it’s official! You’re on the losing side for a month now. I hope that all went well for you! Your journey will have moments to “pause” – I’d like to impart some words of wisdom for when it does occur - remember these wise words whispered by Confucius – “It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.” Be patient. You didn’t put it on over night, it won’t come off over night (DARN IT!)… RNY 10/31/03 – down 81 pounds!!! Good luck!

Hi Tina! Hoping you have a positive surgery experience. I also had my surgery at Richmond, and everything went fine with me. I have nothing but great things to say about the entire process. I know you are probably getting nervous, but don't worry, it should be a piece of cake. One piece of advice: Ask for a private room. They are much more comfortable and you don't have to worry about a roommate. Best of luck to you! See you on the other side!

Hi Tina! Congrats on your surgery date! I bet you are so excited! Just hang in there! I just wanted you to know that I was thinking about you today and that you are in my thoughts and prayer for a successful, problem-free surgery and recovery. I'm so happy for you.
