"I didn't have any visitors due to the fact that I live far away, so the staff would look in on me every so often, just to chat. I liked that. They didn't just do their job, then walk away, they kept in contact with me. Even during the night when I couldn't sleep and wanted some ice water, they were pleasant. On the day that I went home, one of the aides came in and gave me some toothpaste, toothbrush, hair shampoo and other hygiene articles so that I could feel better when I left. I thought that was nice of her."
"The first time I saw Dr. Lutrzykowski was at one of his support meetings. Even though he was running the meeting, most of the support was coming from the group. That is the way I feel that a support group should be run. Made a good impression on me and my mom who came with me.
When I went in for my consultation on 9/25/01, I found him to be more matter-of-fact than he was at the support meeting. That is good, I want a surgeon who knows what he is doing. He is very knowledgeable in what he does, and doesn't sugar coat anything. He tells both the good stuff about the surgery, and also the risks. I can tell that he cares about what he does in that he told me that I had to loose 10-15 pounds before the surgery, or he wouldn't operate on me because it wouldn't be healthy for me. That makes me feel good, he's not just in it for the money. He really does care.
His office staff are great, no matter how many questions I call with, they are very helpful.
I would recommend him to anyone who is thinking about have WLS surgery done."
