"I felt prejudiced against. I had a roommate that was responded to in a much timelier manner than I was. I had a great nurse to start and then they moved her in the middle of shift and gave me a crippled old nurse that could not handle me so she just kept hitting my morphine pump all night and I had a hard time waking up the next morning. The next night anytime I hit the call button nobody would come, had to get myself up to go the bathroom with no help. ON the last day I had one good nurse, that was it and that could have been after my family had complained to several head people at St. Francis. I would recommend you demand a private room and have a family member stay with you the whole time."

"I first met Dr. Gupta at the hospital before having an emergency appendectomy. I was upset, of course, and in pain and he was very informative and relaxed me and reassured me everything would be fine, and it was. My first impression of him is that I thought he was the nicest specialist I have ever met. He is very thorough and takes the time to answer your questions. He seems like he genuinely cares about you. I was upset after seeing the pychiatrist and called his office and he actually was prompt and called me back himself. He reassured me and was very nice. The only bad thing I have to say, which isnt really about Dr. Gupta, is it takes so long to get a date. I understand that he wants to be assured that you are 100% sure this is what you want. I just dont understand why you cant get a date sooner. Dr. Gupta really emphasizes aftercare and support groups. He told me I better like him because I am going to be seeing him a lot. Their office has a wonderful support group format for pre and post surgery. I have met a lot of very nice people there. They also have wonderful speakers that come talk during support groups. They have a pharmacist and a nutritionist to work with you that you have email access to. As you can see I have nothing bad to say about Dr. Gupta. I think a lot of him. I have several refrences from different doctors on his surgical competencey, his bedside manner is terrific and I am glad he is my surgeon."
