Fred J. Crapse, D.O.

"My surgeon is Dr. Fred J. Crapse, D.O. He is the Assistant Professor of Surgery at the College of Osteopathic Medicine with OSU Center of Health Sciences. I had to wait about 1:35 minutes past my appointment time to see the doctor. During our first meeting he was very direct and up-front about the risks and cons of the surgery. I guess if his scare tactics don't deter you after the intial visit - then I figure he knows you're serious about having it done. The second meeting is a "Family Meeting" in which Dr. Crapse requests that you bring "everyone that loves you". The purpose of this meeting is to inform your loved ones about the surgery process and to answer any questions. I took my husband and my Mom and my oldest (13 yr. old) daughter. He was very patient and thorough with all his answers and even drew diagrams explaing the surgery process. His staff is friendly. I asked most of them how it was working with Dr. Crapse and all of them LOVE him. In my book that is a good sign. He planned my surgery date for a Friday because it is his weekend for rounds at the hospital. It makes me feel better knowing that he will be there for me. Very compassionate, very caring! As it stands right now, I'm totally impressed."
