Hi everyone. Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to this site. I had my surgery on 7/6 and everything went well. I can't say enough about the staff at the hospital. I was out of the hospital in 5 days. I did have a couple of problems when I got home.While I was in the hospital they filled me so full of fluid that I weighed 30 lbs more when I left the hospital than the day I went in. It was causing me to have a problem to breath. The day after I came home Ihad to call my PCP as I was having so much trouble breathing. He sent me to the ER and I spent the ay there under going test. He thought I might have CHF or a bood clot in the lungs. the test turned out okay. It was just all that fluid backed up and putting pressure on my lungs. They gave me something to get rid of the fluid and I felt much better.After that thing were going along okay and then on night when I went to bed I noticed the front Of my nightgown was all wet. I checked my incision and it was very red and leaking. I got really scared. First thing in the morning I called the hospital and they said they needed to see me.When they checked this she sid there was no infection that it was a fluid build up under the incision and that this was very common after surgery. She told me she was going to make a hole and drain it and then she was going to put a wick in and pack it . She told me it would heal from the inside out. I have the visiting nurses coming in twice a day to change that dressing. They tell me it is looking good and healing well. I am now eating food and loving it. I am down 21 lbs as of two weeks ago. I am seeing the surgeon on 8/14 and he will weigh me again then. I can't wait to see what I am down. I am not going to say this surgery was easy because it wasn't, but I would do it again in a heart beat. I am only at the beginning and already I feel so much better about myself. It has given me some self confidence and self esteem. I can't wait for my life to be back to normal. I am going back to work on Monday on a limited basis. My only worrie about that is I get tired so fast that I hope I can do it. I will post again when I have more information.

Looks like you're on the other side now, it's 7/7 today. I live in Salem and I'm waiting for my surgery date. Good luck and God Bless.

Good Luck Carol!!! I hope all is good for you- I have the same 7/6 surgery date and procedure in N.J. My husband is down 107 since his RNY 3/21. I'm excited but nervous. Say a prayer for the both of us.
