Just a quick note to everyone to let you know that I will not be able to be on much for a few days. I had some shortness of breath and chest/back pain this afternoon. After spending the day int he ER we found out that I have several small pulmanary embolis (sp?)or blood clots in my lungs. I will have to go in for Lovenox shots twice a day and also I will be on Cumidin (sp?) for at least threee months. I am the only patient that my doc has ever treated for this outpatient, but he is confident that because I am not having any more symptoms that I will be ok. Please pray for me that I will come through this with flying colors. Up until now I have had absolutley NO problems. I haven't even had to take Tylenol since friday morning. ~~~Amy LAP RNY 08-05-03 -12 pounds

Hi all! I made it! I am on the otherside. I feel wonderful. Why didn't I do this years ago? I came through with only one small complication. For some reason I am getting very sick on the Boost Breeze. It won't go down and it won't come back up. It just sits there and I am miserable for about an hour. My surgeon told me to forget about it and concentrate on getting the protien in starting next week when I move up to full liquids and soft foods. My surgeon is amazed at me. I was up and walking laps around the coridors of the floor at around 10 hours post op. My one thing I would suggest to someone having this surgery is every time you get up to go potty walk a lap. That is what I did and I was released a day earlier than any of his other patients! I drank juice (half juice half water), hot tea ( a GODSEND for my upset tummy), broth and I went through a heck of alot of ice chips. I took some liquid vicodin to sleep last night and I have no pain at all this morning. I have taken some liquid tylenol for a slight headache though. I can't thank you all enough for all the support. My family is amazed at all the well wishes I recieved.~~~Amy LAP RNY 08-05-03

In all things Remember, that the one above loves you, that He holds us all in his loving arms,He knows each of us by name.He said anything you ask for in "my name" will be given to you.So in His name I pray for you, that you be given strength, endurance, love, peace and most of all long life.In Jesus' name. When you wake up and see the faces of your loved ones in the recovery room, know that you have made it.Thank Him,Know that you have been blessed to see and to live out the rest of your days with the ones you love and the ones who love you.....Knowing that He loves you too. Happy soon to be ReBirthday.
