ANGELA~~ If you're wondering about your weight loss progress, you can go to http://www.pacificbariatrics.com/postopplanner.phtml and put in your height and weight and desired % of weight loss. It will then chart what your weight loss should be month by month for 18 months. I had initially hoped for 70% excess weight loss - and I was feeling discouraged cause I thought I was losing too slowly, but when I put the numbers in, I figured out that I'm right on track to lose 95% of my excess weight! Check it out- you're probably doing better than you think.

Angela I tend to be pretty straightforward with people, and will be so with you. You have gone through a life threatning operation, spent a lot of money, so why in the heck are you eating the things you are? You can out eat the surgery, but I doubt that is what you want to do. The surgery is only a tool, and the rest is up to you. If your doctor did not give you food guidelines then you need to get them from him. THere is no point in the surgery if you don't modify your eating habits. If you doctor does not have food guide lines then find another surgeon in the area who does this kind of surgery to get this information from them. Pleae take care, eat well, and continue to loose weight and become more healthy. Mari Seattle

October 26th. Dear Angela: Please be patience with the changes going on in your body and mind! I had my surgery August 20th, and I remember wanting to drink and eat so much more than I could. And I thought: "I can't survive this way, I'll die!" But it does get better!! Now, I can drink enough to feel satisfied, and eat enough and feel satisfied. A change takes place in your mind, and your body becomes satisfied and the drinking part becomes a lot easier. Please remember, that little tummy and your intestines are healing from MAJOR SURGERY! Swelling inside makes everything very uncomfortable. Just be patience with your body, and allow it to heal. Much care and concern, Sincerely, Lori Ann.

Hi Angela, Sorry you are going through this period of doubt. May I suggest you spent a half hour looking through the before and after pictures??? They are amazing and will answer your question, "can I really lose all this weight?" YES, you CAN lose it all....you will have to work for it though. The surgery is a tool to make it harder to overeat and harder to eat sweets and high fat junk food so that you can stick to your new way of eating less and eating healthier. You can do this! Have faith in yourself and do what the doctor and dietician say to do and just watch what happens! I'll say a prayer for you hon! BIG HUG! Carol Percel
