"I met with Dr. Welker in Eugene to discuss his gastric bypass procedure. I found him to be quite informative, helpful, and understanding of how difficult being morbidly obese can be. The consult was approximately an hour long and he went over the basics of the procedure, how the technique had been refined from earlier days, what the possible side effects were, as well as the benefits. It was a good meeting that gave me a great deal of confidence in Dr. Welker as a surgeon.
He has gone out of his way several times to contact me when I had questions for him, often calling in the evening after he must have been working for a dozen or more hours...
Well Dr. Welker is no longer operating for unknown reasons, I have been switched over to Dr. Flanagan, who has been great so far."

I tried to explain that I had been going that route for the past 20 years or so without luck and had resigned my self to surgery. Her response was something along the lines of, "well you know that surgery is permanent?..."
She hasa good understanding of sleep problems, but she doesn't seem to understanding of Bariatric Surgery..."
