Barbara, I am wishing you a safe, complication-free surgery and a smooth, quick recovery. I had my Open RNY on 12/10/01 and have absolutely NO regrets other than not having had done this several years ago. It is, without a doubt, the best thing I could have done for myself. I wish you all the very best. May all the "surgery angels" swoop down to surround you and protect you. My husband (age 58) and I (age 53) both had wls in 2001 and have lost a combined total of 270 lbs. Even us "oldsters" can do it with success. It has made a wonderful difference in our lives. I hope you have a great success too.
