Barbara, I am wishing you a safe, complication-free surgery and a smooth, quick recovery. I had my Open RNY on 12/10/01 and have absolutely NO regrets other than not having had done this several years ago. It is, without a doubt, the best thing I could have done for myself. Remember to drink your water, take your vitamins, walk daily and most importantly, be gentle with yourself along the way. Lastly, don't forget to stop by occasionally and update your profile. I wish you all the very best. May all the "surgery angels" swoop down to surround you and protect you. My husband (age 58) and I (age 53) both had wls in 2001 and have lost a combined total of 270 lbs. Even us "oldsters" can do it with success. It has made a wonderful difference in our lives. I hope you have a great success too.
