Hello all, I am 2 weeks post-op today!! Yahoo!!I am finally on the losing side!! Surgery went fine, no complications and was home on day 3. After 1 week though, I did have a "sneak sneeze attack" where I didn't brace my incision soon enough, and an egg size hematoma formed underneath the incision. I had a CT scan and labs to rule out an abscess. I was put on antibiotics and hopefully my body will just absorb the hematoma. I want to thank everyone who sent me their love and prayers, I truly believe in the power of prayer, and it is amazing how good it feels to know there are folks who care out there that even though we may have not met in person, the love and care does come through in the emails. I have lost 20 pounds already, and I am eating! I am a nurse, and work in long term care, and I tell you, I will truly think again when I crush the medications in applesauce and just expect the patient to just eat it. IT IS SO NASTY TASTING!!! I will be so glad to take medication whole again. I am also on liquid Keflex, now I KNOW why babies spit the stuff out!! Yuck... "This too shall pass...". This may help others too, I was taking a sustained or extended release medication, and found after 1 week that my body was not getting it at all, after some not so great side effects of "abrupt withdrawl", my doctor changed it to regular a few times a day. So please be aware all you pre-ops, if you take any sustained release medications, you body will not absorb in the same way. I appreciate all of you, Shirley Williamson

I just wanted to say GOOD LUCK on your surgery. Take a deep breath, try to relax. Know that we all care about you and are wishing you the best. Think positive, it really does help. After surgery, remember to turn, cough, take deep breaths, and walk to prevent complications. Hold your incision when you cough, it helps it hurt less. Keep your profile updated, it may make a difference in the live of someone else. Smile, keep your chin up! And lastly, if your chin does fall, just remember, from this position it is easier to moon people! :) (Also, humor helps too!)

~*~I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY~*~ I said a prayer for you today And know God must have heard- I felt the answer in my heart Although He spoke no word I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind, I asked Him to send treasures Of a far more lasting kind, I asked that He'd be near you At the start of each new day, To grant you health and blessings And friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you In all things great and small, But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all.
