I have a new date Oct 8 for blood test and x rays and on oct.14 is my new set date. also i am haveing trouble with just finding out that my doctor says i must have the opperation where am to be cut all the way down,and have half my stomick removed.Now i am not sure i can go threw. I need helpwhat to do next?

Carl I had open RNY and did fine. The pain was very manageable and I made sure to use my PCA (Morphine) pump and I didn't feel very much pain just uncomfortable because I couldn't sleep on my side like I usually do. I just used lots of pillows under my head and one under my knees to put me in a recline position and that was a big help. I was given liquid meds to use at home but only used them at night. Don't worry you'll do fine. I had my surgery in April and already down from 370 to 279. Well worth the discomfort of those 1st days. Jamie

i am getting close to my date. the nurse said it would be this comming tuesday or next tuesday. I am scared as the doc. said i have to have that type of surgery.That they cut you wide open. where do i go from here???
