"I was very nervous meeting Dr Fisher one on one after hearing so many stories about him. He is VERY straightforward a trait that I usually respect but when you are sensitive about your weight it can be a very scary prospect. What I found out was he is A: Not at all scary B: Very concerned his patients have all the info necc to make their decision and C: selective he doesn't want to perform surgery he is not entirely sure the patient is ready for. I actually enjoyed my visit and discussing the reasons for my decision because I felt I was talking to someone that understood what I was trying to say. I only cried once and believe me it wasn't because of Dr Fisher we touched on my 2 year old the biggest reason for my wanting to do this surgery. His staff is very capable and they have been very nice to me. One of the reasons I chose Dr Fisher besides his no nonsense approach is one, he is here in NV if I had cmplications and two, he emphasizes support groups and after care. I think I have made the right decision time will tell I have surgery in 6 days. 6/30/01 I saw my Dr. again this week to go over everything before the surgery date and was again reassured by his approach and thoroughness. All the anxiety and the crying spells about all the what ifs have gone away I feel better and more resolved each day"
