"Dr Reines is a highly professional and caring doctor. He likes you sit in the waiting room listening to all the success stories, in between your sessions with him, a dietician and a psychologist. He is very careful to explain the risks, you watch a video detailing the surgery, and you just talk to him. Its seems casual and comfortable to be there, something I have never experienced in a doctor's office.
Within the three hours the initial visit takes, you are ready to change your life forever. There are pre-op support groups as well as post-op. I know I will be visiting this office many times over the next few years, and I am totally confident that i will be successful. Dr Reines is there for me, to help me succeed.
7/26/00 I had a follow up visit with my surgeon, it went very well. I Lost 10 lbs and he was very happy, he introduced me to Dr. Dobbs who is a surgical resident. he said he likes them all to rotate through the obesity clinic so they will learn how hard obese people have it. He told the resident that most doctors treat the obese poorly and are prejudiced against them. He wants his surgeons to treat us with utmost respect. It was so cool. After my appt. I saw the young doc in the hall and he thanked me for allowing him to be part of my appt. He told me he would look forward to cheking in on me when I have surgery. Wow they make you feel important, just the way it should be, but we've all experienced the other kind of treatment. Anyway insurance is all approved and i signed the permission slip, so I'm all set for Sept. 12. (except for pre-op tests on Sept 6.)Can't wait."
