Congratulations on your surgery date! I have some Zen Wisdom for you - Nothing exists but momentarily...One thing flows into another...observe things as they are, let everything go as it goes. This is to put everything under control in its widest sense. --- May God keep you close to his side as you travel your new journey. You will have ups and downs. You can always turn to us, your AMOS family, we will give support, comfort and encouragement. You will find this will be the best thing you could ever have done for yourself as well as your family. I know that was true for me. Keep us posted when you reach the "other" side. I pray for a speedy and easy recovery for you. Don’t forget to update your profile at least monthly. We all like to see how we are doing!!! Make sure you take pictures. It’s great to see the new you emerge!!! Not to mention the look on YOUR face when you look at those pictures and compare them in a few months! It’ll be a BIG WOW!!! Please remember too, that this is a *tool* to use. Make sure you use it wisely. The first year it’s pretty easy, after that I’ve been hearing (I’m not speaking from experience as I’m not a year out yet) that it gets increasingly difficult. I WOULD JUST LIKE TO SAY THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR THERE SUPPORT, I AM AMAZED HOW A FAMILY OF STRANGERS THAT ARE BONDED TOGETHER BY A LIFE CHANINGING DECISION ARE ALL SO SUPPORTIVE OF EACH OTHER. I SEEM TO BE FEELING SO POWERFUL EMOTIONS THE PAST FEW DAYS. BUT I KNOW I WILL GET THROUGH THEM, LAST NIGHT I HAD THE WORST CASE OF G.E.R.D. I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED, SO I KNOW I AM DOING THE RIGHT THING, I AM COUNTING DOWN THE DAYS UNTILL SURGERY. I HAVE BEEN RUNNING AROUND THIS SITE LIKE CRAZY READING POST FOR A WHILE NOW,LAST NIGHT I SAW A FEW NEGATIVE WLS POST AND ONE DEATH AS A RESULT OF THIS SURGERY, BUT THERE WERE ALOT MORE POSITIVE THAN NEGATIVE , BY FAR. SO I KNOW THIS IS GOING TO WORK FOR ME. IT HAS TO , RIGHT?...I MET A WONDERFUL GROUP OF PEOPLE AT A SUPPORT GROUP YESTERDAY THAT EVEN MADE THIS SURGERY MORE REAL TO ME. I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO SAY A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO JANIE,,,,,YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE...SHE HAS BEEN THERE TO ENCOURAGE ME AND RIGHT BY MY SIDE, JUST HOLDING MY HAND THROUGH THIS PROCESS. YOU JUST DONT KNOW WHAT AN IMPACT YOU HAVE MADE ON ME. I HOPE YOU GET YOUR DATE SOON AND WISH YOU ALL THE BEST. WE WILL BE BONDED FOR LIFE ALL OF US WITH THIS COMMON DENOMINATOR. WETHER IT BE THE OBESITY SIDE OR THE POST OP SIDE. THATS WHAT MAKE THIS GROUP SO WONDERFUL. ITS DUEL PURPOSE,PRE OP OR POST OP. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH, I HAVE MUCH LOVE FOR YOU ALL. Hi Peggy, I had a great time today at the support group. I only wish you the very best. I am so happy for you! Don't think a thing about getting scheduled before me. If I don't get scheduled the same day as you, you know I will drive up to be there for you anyway. God Bless! Janie

Hi Peggy! Big congratulations on your surgery date! I bet you are so excited! Just hang in there and try to be patient! Don’t worry if you are nervous, scared, excited or go through a thousand different emotions. This is all normal, so go with the flow! There’s really nothing you can do with all those feelings surfacing. You may start to doubt yourself and question your decision to have surgery. Just about everyone has had this happen to them. You’re making a decision to have a better quality of life and YOU deserve it!! That gut feeling or that little voice inside lets you know that you’re doing the right thing! Remember that we’re all family here and we’re ready to give you our support, lend an ear and not judge. You know you can always come here and get a dose of confidence and good will! There are lots of us who have had surgery and are in your corner rooting for you!! I just wanted you to know that I was thinking about you today and that you are in my thoughts and prayers for a successful, problem-free surgery and recovery. I’m so happy for you.
