6 weeks Post-Op
Feb 25, 2009
Well I'm just about 6 weeks post-op.
Surgery went awesome! No problems whatsoever! My advice? Walk walk walk!!!
Incisions look good. (5 incisions total..about an inch in length except the port incision which is almost 2 inches long).
About 5 days out I started feeling like myself again, although it wasn't fun staying on the liquid diet.
I've lost 37 lbs so far...about 2 weeks to 4 weeks post-op I lost NOTHING. Atleast I didn't gain, but it was frusturating getting on the scale each Sunday to see no change whatsoever.
But last week I dropped 4 lbs, and am going back down again. Apparently hitting a plateau right after surgery is pretty normal. So I consider myself lucky.
I really haven't had any problems progressing on the diet plan. I started eating chicken and some bread. As long as I chew until it's mushy...it goes down just fine.
I get my first fill this next week. We'll see how it goes. I can't feel ANY restriction...so I'm hoping it helps.
Thankfully my diet is really going well...but I definetely still feel like I could eat more. Thankfully the month-long liquid diet did it's job and gave me the will power to stop.
Hope everyone else is doing good. Anybody out there go to Hurley in Flint?

Surgery Tomorrow
Jan 18, 2009
Well...the day is nearly here.
I've had my 2 weeks of pre-op liquids. Was pretty difficult the first 3 days...after that it was just a normal thing. Still HATE seeing all the damn food commercials on TV. It's insane.
I have lost 21 pounds since being on the liquid diet....yea baby.
I'm so excited for this whole experience and am very grateful.
See ya on the flipside.
