My Story, oh booy where do I start.  I too like most everyone have been overweight (fat) my whole life.  I can remeber getting picked on in middle and high school.  I am a married 31 year old with a 2 year old son that I just adore.  He is the love of my life!  Other than my husband.  I am 5'8, and weighed in at 270 befor my surgery.  This is the same weight I was when I gave birth to my son.  I lost some of my baby weigh, but quickly gained it back.  I fell like I was out of control!  When my mom had RNY surgery in Sept. 2005, I really didnt support her decision and was against this surgery.  After seeing how great my mom has done (hence some minor problems) and seeing how great she feels I started to think abotu WLS.  My PCP mentioned it in May of 06 and that got me going.  He fully supported me and told me I would have such a healthier and active life after WLS.  SO I then meet Dr. Saber.  The coolest surgeon.  He has made me laugh from day one and when I just went back for my 1 week post op check up, he just confirmed that I made the right choice in surgeons.  He is so careful and so cautious about everything.  I appreciate that so much.  I had lap RNY WLS on 12/26/2006.  I sailed through the recovery and am only 3 weeks out today and I feel great already.  I have had my "moments" but they pass and all is well.  My goal is 155 but we will see where I am at after a few months.  I am down 20 already so I am on my way! :)
