Week 3 isn't going as well. One of my wounds got really sore and started leaking. Went to surgeons office to have it checked since we would be going out of town soon. He said it looked ok and the bump was probably a stitch bunched up under the skin. The bump should go away once the stitch disolves or comes out.
And talking about stitches! I think my sister was right and it is the stitches are what I'm allergic to. Two more have come to the surface and I'm itching like crazy again around those two. :( Dr. said they should be gone in 6 weeks. 6 more weeks of itching!!! :(
Last but not least, I've only lost 2 pounds this week. That's ok. It could be just a stall...but that is 2 more that I don't have on my body anymore.
Next week will be my first challenge. Going to the farm for a week. Hubby's family likes going out to eat alot. They do not know about my surgery. Luckily, when we do eat at home, I do the cooking so Grandma can relax. I need to stay hydrated!!! Still can't get more than 40 oz in if I'm lucky.
So week 3 is almost over and week 4 will hopefully be better!

 Had my 2 week post op visit today. Down 23 lbs!!!! Everything went well. Found out I'm allergic to adhesive and that's why my incisions are red and itchy. Not drinking what I should either. :-( I'm trying but it hurts to drink fast and I guess my sips rant enough. Got to find some protien I can stand also. Oh well! I can and will do it!!!

Today was the first time going out to a restaraunt. A buffet no less! Whole family went since we had a groupon that expires this week. I was a bit worried since I just started pureed yesterday. I think I did good though. Felt when I needed to stop so I did.
Got a check up this Tuesday. Hope all goes well. Still not sure about two of the puncture wounds as they are not closing up. :( I know they will in time though...
Drinking is a problem for me the last few days. I've been thirsty! But can't do water, can't do cold, and warm drinks just are not hitting the spot when the temps are almost 100 degrees! I know, its just a hurdle I need to get over...

Boy, can't believe it's been a week since my sleeve! Starting to feel better. Did not expect to be in pain so many days but it is getting better day by day. Food wise I think its been the hardest. Nothing liquid sounds or tastes good. Dinners for family and all the food commercials are really trying. :-( I think it will be alot better once I can have pureed foods.
Puncture wounds are itching like crazy now! Bra rides right on one. I am walking all over the house and up and down our sidewalk. I don't want to over do it but want to make sure I'm doing what I need. Not drinking what I'm supposed to either. I get about 32 oz in a day. Tiny sips seem to take forever! Cold drinks hurt going down so drinking room temperature.

 Had surgery Thur. Got started 2 hours late finally got to my room at 7:30! Heart rate and restorations were pretty low that first night should be going home this afternoon. Gotta get drinking though. :-( I'm just not a big water drinker :-( I'm trying though!!!

Four days till surgery. Getting nervous. Having second thoughts, which I assume are normal. Just wanting to make sure I'm doing the right thing. I know once its over and I'm back on normal food I will feel better. Just worried about right after. Trying to find a protien shake I can handle. Why do they have to smell so bad? :(
Wishes my mom would be more supportive. I know she is a BIG worrier but just wish she would be happy for me. Not always saying negative things. So glad my hubby is being supportive. I told him he is going to have to get on my case if he sees me not doing what I'm supposed to do. :)

Today was a bad day. I wanted to just eat. Kept walking to the kitchen but I walked back out. I know it was because I wasn't keeping busy today. Just a lazy day, which was nice but also hard.

Got a call today saying surgeon had a cancelation so they wanted to know if I wanted to schedule my surgery. It's set for June 14th now. Start the 1200 calorie diet next Thurs. Gonna be a tough weekend as we are going camping and having my daughteres birthday. I can do it! Just will keep reminding myself.

One more test needed before insurance will approve surgery. Having a test this afternoon to check for ulcers. Then they can submit to insurance and I will be so close to having the surgery. Looking at the first part of June. I only have 3 more weeks of work left so then I can concentrate on losing this weight! :)

My story is just like most. Been over weight all my life. Come from a family of over weight people. I'm an emotional eater. Bored, depressed, etc...
Doctor suggested WLS last summer. I had never thought about it. I've taken many months since then to finally come to the decison to have it. It's the only way! I want to be healthy and live to see my kids grow. I want to be able to play with them for more than a few mins!
I'm still nervous about having the surgery. I'm meeting with Dr. Lamasters again this week so hopefully can make surgery appt. and get it going.
