It's really happening

I can't believe it. It is July 22nd and I will be having surgery on July 24th. Up until Wednesday July 18th I thought for sure the insurance company would turn me down again, but no they gave their final approval. Since then I have been scrambling trying to get ready. On the 16th I met with the dietician and have been trying to purchase everything on the diet and supplement list to have on hand for my return from the hospital.
And it wasn't until last night that I realized when I was packing my backpack with the stuff I'm taking to the hospital with me that it's really happening. My best friend had open gastric bypass in January 2002 and has lost 120 pounds and is feeling wonderful. It took a full year for me to decide that it was what I wanted to do also. Unfortunately it took another four years to get the insurance company to agree with me.
I am so excited I don't know how I'm going to sleep the next few days. I actually have to go into work on Monday to finish a big project and I am going to have to concentrate very hard to keep my mind on the work. Well considering the time right now I am going to at least go lay on my bed and pretend to sleep.
