7 MONTHS POST OP
Jan 07, 2008
Hello everyone!!!
It's been a while since I updated but I have been living and enjoying my life to the fullest. My surgery experience up until now has been absolutely blessed!! I have had no complications (knock on wood) and I have lost about 152 pounds in seven months! Everything is wonderful and this was still the best decision I ever made!! I am sooo much more active and everything i just easier...I don't have to plan my life around being fat anymore!! I wear a size 16 and an extra large top which is crazy and its just sooo weird to be smaller than i have been since like grade nine!! I love love my DS...now i just need to start working out...I want to run a 5k in June...6 months should be good time to train I hope!!
12 WEEKS POST-OP
Sep 04, 2007
Hey Everyone!!
So here I am 12 weeks post-op, its soooo crazy because I hardly feel like I had surgery other than the obvious benefits!! I feel really really good, I hardly ever have gas issues and I can eat a treat here or there and be fine. I am no longer a slave to food and I have to often remind myself to eat! I have lost 85 pounds since my surgery and 100 since my surgical consult!! I am sooo excited to fit in better clothing although everything i buy gets big too fast which is a little frustrating (but there are worst problems!!). Basically DS has been a God send I couldn't have asked for better results! My life is busy now, I want to do sooo much and I am soooo much more mobile, I can walk and dance and shop all I want, its great! It's funny watching the reactions of people who haven't seen me in a longtime most don't know what to say but there eyes widen when they see me! ANyways things are great and I still really appreciate the support on this website!!

6 WEEKS POST OP
Jul 20, 2007
Well here I am 6 weeks post op!! Its soo crazy!! I feel so very blessed because my surgery went great and I had a really great recovery. At six weeks out I honestly have moments when I don't remember that I have had the surgery!! I have lost almost 70 pounds since my first consult with Dr. L and about 55 pounds since my surgery day!! I feel a thousand times better, my knees and hips don't hurt anymore I can breath better, sit better, walk farther, everything just feels better which is by far the best benefit to this surgery!!
It is very interesting getting to know my new stomach and figuring out what to eat when you are never hungry!! Only in the past two weeks have I regained a little interest in eating because I feel uncomfortable when my stomach gets empty...I am struggling with what to eat as I seem to get sick of foods really easily (i.e. tuna, eggs, etc). I am worried that I am getting my protein from bad sources (too much red meat) so I am trying to eat more chicken! It is a struggle for me to take all the pills only because I am always on the go and must remember them!! I have only minimal bathroom issues although the morning can be a little rough. I can eat a lot of different foods, all ready my little stomach seems pretty strong, I am kinda worried that I can tolerate bread so well (I haven't eaten a lot but I was fine with a tortilla and a piece of crusty bread). All in all I LOVE MY DS.
I am just enjoying this gift and looking forward to starting a serious fitness routine in September!!
