Well let's see where to begin. I have been overweight my whole life, but my weight has really started to bother me over the last 10 years - now, I know that is a long time, but it has been a struggle my entire life. I have been successful losing up to 50 pounds on WW's, but inevitably I always gain at least 25 pounds back. I applied for Lap Band surgery in March 2009 and was denied due to basically "being FAT and HEALTHY" - what an oxymoron. Now the opportunity to have Lap Band and my hiatal hernia repaired at the same time has been presented and I simply can not pass it up. I feel in so many ways that this has been an answered prayer. I am anxious for surgery next week - 12/2/09, but hopeful that it will be the beginning to a whole new life. I am so thankful for the love and support of my family and friends and I know that better, slimmer days are ahead!
