1 year surgerversery

Aug 17, 2010

It was a year ago today that my life began anew, the time has mostly zipped by  and yet I can recall those first few days when I wondered if it would really work, why didn't I do this years ago, nd on and on. Well here I am down just under 190lbs and feeling like I have not felt in decades!!To all of you onthis website ,thanks from the bottom of my heart, your words and thoughtfull insights have been a blessing and an inspiration.Tho I am still about 20 lbs away from goal, I remind myself that this is a trip and not just a numerical arrival point. It feels like I have been given a new life to begin again with, for all those newbies, stay the course, one day at a time keep your eye's on the prize and let time do the rest.Your turn will surely come. Thanks, peace and benidictions.   Willie

Birthday weigh in

Apr 03, 2010

Yesterday on my 55th birthday I had a weigh in at a monthly support meeting and was able to reach my goal of being under 275 on that day.At 7 months post op. the loss is slowing down some,17lbs in the last 5 weeks. But what stunned me was that at a dinner for me at a local pub the waitress didn't know me until I spoke up. I am down about 170 lbs since I was last there that was the first time that has happened. That wow moment felt so good it kept me from overeating that eve.I have a nine month checkup in late May, I want to be about 15 lbs lighter for that.  Peace and Luv   Willie

A weird wow moment

Mar 05, 2010

A few weeks ago I bought a few pairs of pants at Walmart hoping that in a couple of weeks when I tried them on they just might fit.Well yesterday was that day and damn if they aren't a little bit to BIG I had to put a pir of suspenders to help with the belt. I felt great,I only weigh myself once every 5 or 6 weeks so early April is the next time, but that pants thing  has me less worried about stalls and if I should be losing weight a a faster rate. Peace and Luv    Willie
