Hello,
Well, I had my surgery on Oct. 1st 2007.  It went fine.  After 2 weeks out I lost a few pounds, then I began getting hungry.  It has continued.  I have had 4 adjustments now.  The adjustments were horrible as the port was so deep, the doctor had trouble getting to it.  Wow, that made me feel even worse about being fat!  Anyway,  I'll give you the shortest version here.  I was able to eat a huge amount of food.  I stayed hungry between meals.  I gave up the journey in December and ate whatever I wanted to eat.  Gained 2 lbs back of a total of 45 lbs lost. (39 was before surgery).  So, the last adjustment (#4) the doctor did a barrium xray and said the band looks great.  He stated my esophagus is dilated.  What did that mean?  I'm guessing I'm eating too much and its stretching  my esophagus.  I don't know.  He didn't elaborate and I was just so depressed about not feeling "full" with a small amount of food and getting hungry between meals.  I was told by staff that I am feeling "head hunger".  So, I'm going to a therapist next week. I had worked so hard to get this surgery thinking it would really help me continue to lose.  Right now, I would not have the surgery if I had to do it over again.  If I am going to be hungry and feel like I have to do this on my own, then I would just do it on my own.  I feel like a failure.  I guess I just thought that the band would help me not feel hungry, therefore, I wouldn't think about eating all the time.
