Amy I.
i am married to a wonderful man and we have 2 beautiful boys together, Ethan, 6 and Jackson, 4. I have been overweight since I was 7. I have no idea what it feels like to be a normal sized person, so having weightloss surgery will give me a completely different perspective on life.
My main reason for doing this is to two fold. First, I want to know what it feels like to not be the fat chic in every situation. and secondly, I want to encourage my husband to have the surgery as well. Even though I'm a "healthy" fat person, he is not. At the age of 30 we found out that he had a serious heart condition (conjestive heart failer, enlarged heart, and it was funtioning at only 20%) and almost lost him. He has since received a difibulator/pace maker and takes several pills a day.
I have been on 100 different diets. You name it, I've probably tried it. Unfortuantely nothing worked. And I've dieted myself up to 300 lbs. I started doing all my requirements for my surgery in August 2008. I went for my first consultation with Dr. Sherer on Feb 12, 2009. All my paperwork has been turned in and I hope to hear from them soon with good news. Until then I wait.
