My highest weight was 512 lbs.  I was suffering from many illnesses b/c of my weight.   I was in a wheel chair, b/c I previously had blood clots in my legs.  And my legs weren't able to carry my enormous 512 lbs.  And I'd like to add that 512 figure was a month pre-op weight so it may have been more on surgery day.    But,  I had heard about this surgery, but thought there was no way I could ever be able to get it done.  But, little did I know it was covered by Medicaid if you had illnesses b/c of your weight.  I had tried many ways to loose weight.  Pills, YMCA,  diets.  And lost weight only to gain it and more back.   It was hopeless. So I just gave up.   And then I found about RNY.    And I must say, it has turned out to be the best decision as far as my weight goes, that I ever made. I had my surgery June 12,2002.   At my lowest weight I was 222.  I am now back up to about 255.  I'm 5 years out, so I have gained some, but nothing close to where I was.  Although you can gain some weight back,  it's easier to loose it.  Or atleast it has been for me.   I can walk now, and do things I could only set back and watch people do b4.  I t was a hard blow gaining some back, but a lot of people do, after they get so far out.  It takes work, continuous work to keep it off.  But, it's doable.   I have had to have my gallbladder removed, and also hernia repair.   I had a tummy tuck, breast lift and some skin removal off my side.  And of all the surgeries the breast lift was the most painful.  I never felt anything like that in my life.  But, still I'd do it again.  This journey has gave me my life back.  Easy, NO !  This has been a rough journey.  I've had a few compllications.  But, nothing any worse than weighing 512 lbs.  This surgery can be a life saver.    Dr. Glen Strickland done my surgery and he's a wonderful doctor.  He also done my gallbladder removal and hernia repair.        My story  in more detail of the earlier time after my surgery is on this site, too, but I can't seem to find it.    But it's here somewhere.  I've let alot of time go by w/o updating and I actually forgot my logon info.   Maybe some one can round it up.  If ya do let me know !  DUH,   I feel like a dummy.  My memory is lacking !!! LOL!!!   Until later you guys.....
