Working out of disspointment

Aug 06, 2012

Ok, here is the deal.  I found foods I could eat that I shouldn't have.  I was eating for comfort and I gained 40 lbs. :(  I feel like a total failure and am ashamed of myself.

I just finished the 5 Day Pouch Test and it was tuff but I got through it and lost some weight.  I'm now trying to work my eating with my partner's foods and plan on making dinners that will fit both of us.

I'm charting my meals and drinking and being strick about the fluids before and after meals.  Plus I've gotten back on this and Lapband talk site to read and find support and encouragement.

Cross your fingers for me I think I might need a cheering group.

Back

Apr 02, 2010

I took a long break for a while and am working on getting back in the swing of things.  Kinda apathetic about everything but muddeling through.  Thank you all so much for your kind thoughts and prayers.  Please know that it all helps, even if I didn't respond as fast as I should have.

Plateau

Jun 11, 2009

Ok just got a fill yesterday (.5cc)  Tim says I'm doing GREAT, eventhough the scale is stuck at 250 to 246.  My total fill is 5.05 and I do fill restriction.  I'm on liquids right now and am going forward cautiously.  Let's hope this fill give my weight loss a nudge to continue to my goal :)

3rd Fill - Can't come soon enough

Mar 11, 2009

Ok, I go for my 3rd fill today.  Yesterday it hit me, that I was HUNGRY and I felt like I could eat anything.  How very weird that I am going along doing GREAT and the day before my fill I get hit with being very hungry.  I wonder if this is normal before you hit your sweet spot.

Well....1:45 can't come soon enough for me.

Between Fills

Feb 02, 2009

I've noticed that I am eating more and more, portion wise.  Still eating healthy and making good choices but my calories have gone up (from 700-800 to 1200) per day.  I'm noticing that I'm thinking of food more.  Head hunger is inching in and I'm not sure that this is a sign I need a fill...probably.

Such a large learning curve ;)  I'm loosing well and am down to 270!!!!  Which is freakin awesome.  I've lost a size or two, many inches and am feeling much much better/healthier.

1st Fill

Jan 20, 2009

2.5 ccs later (Monday, January 19th) and doing well.  The day of the fill and the day after my tummy and esophogus were a bit angry and upset but food went down well (all liquid).

So I'm feeling restricted, much like I did after surgery.

Hungry

Jan 15, 2009

Ok, my stomach must be healed...cause I don't think I have any restriction now.  Today was the first day since I was banded (December 23rd) that I have been HUNGRY.

I'm still eating under 1k calories and am really watching what I'm eating but I felt like I could eat my desk today at work.

Good thing I go in for a fill on the 19th.

10 day post op

Jan 01, 2009

Staples are out.  I've lost 10 lbs since surgery 26ish since I've begun all this journey.  My belly itches and is just a tad bit sore.  I'm eating soft foods and getting in way more than 64 fluid oz a day.  60-70 grams of protein is good and I'm getting all my vitamins and supplements daily.

Small portions of food are keeping me full until my next meal and I'm being really mindful about the no fluids 30 mins prior and 1 hour after a meal.

My average caloric intake has been around 450 to 500 per day.  I need to increase my calories, because I'm starting to get really weak between meals.  Never thought I would have problems with needing to eat more and not being sure the best way to do it.

Day 1 Post Op

Dec 24, 2008

The day of surgery we arrived to the Hopsital around 7:30 a.m.  My surgery was scheduled for 9 am.  I was taken by a nurse to get all my prep stuff done.  And then my family was brought in so they could give hugs and kisses before I left to surgery.

I don't remember anything from the time my family left to the time I started opening my eyes in recovery.  Whatever happy juice they game me worked.  Dr. Hoehn went and spoke with my family when he was done, letting them know who I was and how my surgery went.

Got back to my room and all my vitals were watched.  My mouth was very very dry and for a while I was only allowed to swab my mouth with water.  I slept off and on.  Loved it when I graduated to ice water.

Had a little snafu with getting my anti-nausea medication but that was fixed and we headed home.

I didn't have any problems falling asleep.  I did wake up early (5 am) and walked around the house.  I started taking my meds&supplements.  Those all went down just fine.

Again slept on and off throughout the day.  Walked, and drank lots of water.

So far so good
