Present & Future
I am 33 years old, 5'2", and am beginning my WLS journey at 245 pounds.

I have been married for ten years this past June to my wonderful husband, David.  David has known me since around 1988 when we became friends in the 8th grade.  He knows me better than anyone else, and has seen me through all my weight challenges.  He has literally been there for me through "thick" and "thin", and loves me regardless.  I have one daughter (15) from a previous relationship before David and I became an "item", and together we have three additional children ages 9, 7, and 5 (two more girls and a boy - in that order).

I am the Executive Administrative Assistant to the Director of Information Technology for a local company that employs over 900 people.  I am good at my job, and I love what I do - going to work every day is a joy.  I am incredibly lucky to have the job that I do.  I am also attending college to obtain my Bachelor of Business Administration degree, with a major in Management.

Everything in my life is headed in the right direction - with the exception of my weight.  It is now the next item on my "to be addressed" list!  The picture shown on my profile is my senior picture from High School, and is the  last time I remember being somewhat happy with my appearance.  The picture was taken after I had lost 25 pounds - I believe I was about 16 years old in this picture.  It is my "inspiration point" and reflects me at the weight that I want to be again - right around 125 pounds.

History
I have been obese my entire adult life, and was always a chubby child.  At the age of 17, two months before my 18th birthday, I gave birth to my oldest child, who is now 15 years old.  I gained 60+ pounds with this pregnancy, and weighed around 180 after the birth.  After having my daughter, I began a period of steady weight gain over five years - attributable to the method of birth control that I was using (Norplant), as well as my eating habits and lack of physical activity.  After the birth of my second, third, and fourth children, my weight topped out at 255 pounds.

Over the years, I have attempted to lose weight using varioius methods, including the following:

* High protein, low carb diets
* Slimfast
* Nutritionist consults
* Gym memberships
* FitDay.com
* eDiets.com
* Oprah Winfrey/Bob Green’s “Get With the Program”
* Pondimin
* Ionamin
* Xenical
* Fastin

I have jumped through all the approval hoops for my RNY (psych eval, letter from primary, my letter of intent to surgeon, labs, Upper GI, etc...).  Now I am just waiting for the surgery scheduler to call me with a surgery date - I should know within the next two weeks or so - WOOHOO!
