IM OFFICIALLY A LOSER!!!

Feb 22, 2014

Where to begin....i was sleeved on 02/18/14. The surgery went well with no complications. Any one who has had the surgery knows you cant drink anything right after....my mouth was soooooooo dry i swear some tumble weeds went by....the feeling was so unbearable, but that feeling was nothing compared to the unrelentless nausea, ive never experienced anything like it in my life any pray i never do again...it lasted the first 2 days and all i could do was lay there and pray to god that the feeling would go away. I was on three different meds for the nausea but nothing was working. I was dry heaving constantly because of it but throwing up nothing due to an empty stomach. Thankfully it started to subside on the 3rd day and i was ok`d for discharge. I am totally happy to be sleeved but the experience for me was horrible.

One step forward....one step back....

Oct 01, 2013

So i went to the cardiologist today to get the results of my stress test. I was told that everything looks really good and that she would write the letter giving me clearance for the surgery. . I also received a call from the pulmonary doctors office stating that the company they originally requested my CPAP machine from no longer takes my insurance so she has to send the script to another company. I was supposed to go see him tomorrow and that would have been my final appointment that i needed to go to besides my monthly nutrition visits. Now that appointment has to be pushed back till Oct 30 because he wants me to use the machine for a couple of weeks before he sees me again....more waiting....

And another one...

Sep 25, 2013

Yesterday i went to my third nutritionist appointment although it felt like it was only my first one. The lady that i had been originally meeting with left the program to start her own business. The new lady was rather nice though it seems that the previous nutritionist didn't leave her any information on her patients because she was asking me questions that i felt like she should have already known the answers to....though she might have just been going over the information for herself...i can't call it. I didn't lose any weight since my last appointment, i actually gained 2 pounds which in itself is not major, but it can become an issue if i continue to gain instead of losing. She asked me if the previous lady set any goals with me or gave me any homework....i'm like.... she was suppose to?? We went over chapter's two and four in the binder that they give you. She told me that for our next visit she wants me to complete the quiz that is in the back of the book. She also asked me what i had eaten the day before and told me some things i needed to adjust. So overall it was cool....hopefully i'll be down a few pounds by my visit next month...

Moving along....

Sep 18, 2013

So i went in for my stress test yesterday, first they took an ultrasound of my heart, I then went back to the waiting area and was called again buy the technician who would be doing the "workout" portion of the test. He took me back and took my blood pressure, stuck some leds all over the place, then he put a IV line in. A few minutes later the doctor comes in and starts talking to me then tells me to hold on and leaves out. I hear him and a few other people out in the hallway discussing my blood pressure. When he comes back he has a doctor with him that i had met at my previous appointment. Apparently my pressure was high (142/90) and they were concerned about me doing the exercise because it could cause my pressure to go up more. So we discussed the risks and decided that i would do the test but the bottom number of my pressure went above a 100 they would have to stop the test and i would have to come back and do it again when my pressure was lower. I get on the treadmill and they continue to monitor my pressure, somebody comes in and gives me a shot of radiation in my IV. I finish that part without incident. I go to another waiting room for about 20 mins, the tech that gave me the radiation shot comes and gets me and takes me to go get pics of my heart taken. For this process i have to sit in a chair that rotates, with a bar that holds your arms up. He turns the lights off and says it will take about 20 mins and to be very still and try not to fall asleep. After that is done i go back to the waiting area because he need to make sure the pics are readable after about 10 mins he comes and tells me that the pics came out good so i can leave. It all took about 3.5 hours. I was scheduled to go back today to do the "resting" portion of the test but.....***drumroll***.....the dr called me last night and said that everything looked great and i didnt need to come do the second part!!   So i go back to the cardiologist on 10/01 so she can tell me what she thinks....moving right along...

Antsy...

Sep 10, 2013

So it's getting down to the wire and and I'm starting to wonder am i doing all this for nothing. I've seen all the doctors required of me to get clearance. I have to go back to the cardiologist next week to do a stress test then a follow up after that. I also have to go back to the Pulmonologist to get my CPAP machine ordered. I will be done with all the return visits the 1st week of October. I feel like i should know already if my insurance will approve the surgery. It will be very upsetting to have gone through all these changes just to find out I'm not covered. cool
