"My first impression of Dr. Henderson was that he was quiet and competent. That has since been affirmed. The pre-op appointment was really the only chance I had to speak with him one-on-one and he was very helpful and willing to talk in depth about everything. At this point he requires that you've already attended his informational mini seminar and he knew that I'd already completed the psych eval and weekend seminar so we addressing specifics. The office staff was caring and competent at all times, also very efficient. What I liked least about Dr Henderson is that he isn't particularly warm in his demeanor; however, that is pretty minor in my opinion. I would rather have an intelligent and very competent surgeon than one who holds my hand. His PA, Sandra, is wonderful by the way, very warm and caring, willing to take the time and talk with you. Aftercare isn't very structured. There is a basic eating plan and regular follow up visits. Involvement in the support group is emphasized but not really possible for me due to the distance of the drive (about 2 hours each way). The doctor didn't spend much time on the risks of surgery. That was addressed in the informational seminar, but also the fact that this doctor and his partner have completed over 350+ lap RNY's and have suffered *no* fatalities as of 5/04 is very reassuring! Overall I would rate Dr. Henderson as an excellent physician (a 9!). "
