I had surgery on April 29, 2009 and I am out almost 1 year and feel great. I am 54 years old and went from size 28 (290) to 205 and size 18-20 this is where I had wanted to be and am very happy . I had a bad experiances with Pickles at Thanksgiveing Time. and swelled my stomack to the point and Christmas I had to have my band deflatted. but I went to have the band reinflated this past weekend (Feb 22,2010) but I was still lossing weight so I left it deflatted. I would recomend the lad to anyone that is afraid of the more evasive surgeries. But it takes a lot of work to follow the Dr's recomendes. Good Luck to you all.
