4th fill
Mar 15, 2008
I had my 4th fill on 3/13. This time I had 2 cc's added. I actually don't feel very hungry. I can still eat almost the same amount, but it keeps me full longer. I think that one more fill will do it!! I am making progress on the Couch-to-5K program. I can run 10 min straight, walk another 2 min, and then run another 10 min. This is huge progress, as I could barely run 1 min when I started. I have only lost 12 pounds, but I did loose 15 inches total! Yeah!!!!
3rd Fill
Mar 07, 2008
I had my 3rd fill today (March 7). This time 1.2 cc was added for a total of 2.0 cc. I really hope that I start to feel some restriction soon. I have lost 12 pounds since surgery and I am doing well with my running and exercise. I just feel that I could speed up my weight loss if I actually was not hungry, and I could control my eating some more. Overall, I am still optimistic!
2nd Fill
Feb 28, 2008
So, when we went in to get filled on Tuesday, our MD told us he was only putting in 0.3cc. He said that he did not expect we would feel any restriction, but that he did not want us to get obstructed. He said that if we still felt hungry after a few days, we could have another fill. So we went in today for our 2nd fill. This time 0.5cc was placed for a total of 0.8cc. Hopefully I will start to feel full!
I am still going to the gym, although last week was a busy week and I didn't get everything in that I had hoped. The Couch-to-5K program is going fine. I'm excited to see a little more progress on the scale.

1st Fill today!
Feb 26, 2008
I had my first fill today. My MD put in 0.3cc, which I did not think was much, but he said that if I am not feeling restriction by Friday, I could have more placed. Overall, it did not hurt as much as I thought. I will wait to see if I start feeling full soon!
Couch to 5K program started!
Feb 04, 2008
OK...today I officially started the couch to 5K program. It went very well at the gym. I am really feeling back to normal now.
My only issue is that I don't feel any restriction at all. In fact, I feel like I have on almost every other diet that I have been on. I'm not really hungry too much, but like I said, I am still able to eat portions that I think are too big.
That being said, my friend Kristine and I called to make our appointment for our 6 week fill and we mentioned this. Our dr told us to come in this week for our first fill. He said that we are not feeling restriction because the band doesn't have any saline in it, and the inflamation from the surgery has gone down. So I am going in on Wed for my first fill.
I'm a little nervous about that!! We'll see how it goes!

Starting at the gym...
Jan 29, 2008
Well, tomorrow will be 2 weeks post op. I am really starting to feel back to normal. I went to the gym on Monday and did the stationery bike for 15 min. It was ok. I didn't want to over do it too soon.
This morning, I finally dragged myself out of bed at 6am, and went to the gym. I walked on the treadmill for 30 min, and even managed to work up a sweat. It felt great!
My weight loss has pretty much stabilized out after the first week. I am holding at about a 6 pound loss. I'm not going to freak out about it because I know that the weight will come off. I just have to continue to follow the rules and exercise!

My stitches are gone!
Jan 25, 2008
I went to see my surgeon today, and got my stitches removed. He said everything is going fine, and said that I could advance my diet if I wanted to. He also felt my port, and said that it was fine (although still feels very tilted to me!!).
I am feeling Soooo much better today! I can bend and twist, and have been doing everything as normal at work. It feels good. I just can't wait to start exercising a bit. I think that next week I will start to walk on the treadmill, and then start the Couch to 5K program the following week.
I am excited!

Post-Op Day 7
Jan 24, 2008
I went back to work today! It felt good to be up and about, and doing something useful! Most of the day I spent behind my desk getting caught up with everything that has piled up over the last week. I was just there for 6 hours today, but I am hoping for 8 tomorrow.
I see my surgeon tomorrow to get my sutures removed. I am going to ask him about the persistant soreness of the port site. The top edge seems to be poking out more than the bottom edge. It seems tilted.

My 1st Blog!! 6 Days Post-Op
Jan 23, 2008
This is a whole new experience for me! Both the weight loss surgery and blogging. First of all, I had a gastric band placed on January 17th, 2008. The first few days were very rough. There was lots of pain, along with nausea and dry heaves.
On a better note, this week I am feeling much better. I am moving around well and drinking my protein shakes. I even had a small bit of scrambled eggs last night. Most of all, I get tired out easily. I find that if I pace myself, and rest often, I feel pretty good.
All of this will be worth it, in the end! My goal is to weigh 125 pounds. If I do this, I will have lost 68 pounds. I am trying to break this into mini-goals of 25 pounds each. I am hoping to hit the first mark (168#) by May 1st.
