My journey began on 1/05 I had a horrible Christmas vacation and decided it was a time for change. When I got home I decided to weigh myself..Holycow Im 387 lbs....I made the call that changed my life. Dr. Albert Wetter came recommended from someone I knew who had Lap-band. I made a appointment for my first consult. After my appontment with the most beautiful male Dr. I had ever laid eyes on, the first bad news came. My insurance Cigna PPO OAP did not cover lap-band. I really wanted that because I guess I was afraid I would never be able to eat again. So after heavy thought, I decided if I was going to do this I better go all the way. I went for the gastric bypass. Im so happy I did. Just from talking with a few people in the waiting room I realized I might not get what I was looking for in the Lap-band. I needed descipline, I would only get that with Gastric Bypass. Since Surgery I have lost 198 lbs as of 3/15/2007
