I called UVA, to set up the psych evaluation and am waiting on call back from their office. Hoping to get in there sometime in March. I have my yearly female exam on March 1st and a PCP appointment on the 19th.
I have almost everything ready...so I am getting excited. Not too much longer and I should be on the losing side.
Sleep Study

So last night went pretty good. I slept all through the night, no one sleeping with me, lol...and the bed was more comfy than my own. I will probably have the test results back tomorrow, if not beginning of next week.
I called up the Psychologist my doctor recommended, and they can't get me in until April 10th. I called my office back, to see if they can refer me to Roanoke or even Charlottesville. The problem with living in a small town is that there are only limited specialists, and they are booked solid for months in advance. They did mention putting me on the call list, so I could get in much faster.
I was really hoping to get this surgery around the beginning of April, so I would be healed and ready to walk in the summer. Anyway, we will see what the future holds. I have made it this long, so what's a couple more months?
Valentines Night

Today has been a good food day. I stuck to the low fat/no sugar list...even got Splenda packets to carry with me for coffee. I noticed on the board someone mentioned flavored Splenda for coffee, but I didn't see those at Walmart. I bet the Vanilla would be good with a little bit of milk (I love my cream and sugar).

In the morning, after my daughter leaves for school, I am going through all the cabinets and purging the house of bad food choices.
For the past six months, I have tried to limit the quantity of what I eat, but I didn't really cut sugar or butter. I thought if I only use half what I want that would be fine. Not according to the nutritionist. She looked over my journal and showed me several choices that weren't the best things I could be eating.
I am hoping that over the next few weeks, I can lose a few pounds before surgery...to show them and myself that I can follow the rules. Really, all they want me to do for now is change butter to the spray and substitute Splenda for sugar...oh and not buy anymore Texas Toast from the freezer area. She told me to spray some butter on regular toast and top with a little garlic powder.
I guess it's small changes like these that will help our whole family get into better shape in the long run.
I have a question for you post opers...when you are making meals for your families, do they still want to eat unhealthy choices, or are they more apt to try what you're having? I worry about how we're going to incorporate my diet with theirs. The girls will probably eat almost anything I do, its dh I am worried about. He doesn't want to have to "suffer" without his junk food.

I think my family will be sad to see all the junk food go, but maybe we'll all get healthier.
