Clarence R. Hixon

"My first expression was he really knows his business. He was friendly but I could tell busy. No I still felt the same when all was done. The office staff is great. They are the main ones I dealt with. They always were helpful and understanding. I only saw him once before surgery date. I felt he should have seen me one more time before surgery. He is very throul in making sure every needed specialist is seen. He relives on them alot. Recommended I find a support group in my area. But did not push any other aftercare, except his appointments. He does not have his own support group or after care program. You watch a video and then he goes over possible complications and you have to sign that he told you. He does not minimize the possible problems. I would rate him excellent, a professional in his field, yet doesn't seem aloft. He;s open for guestions. I would put surgical competence first and bedside manner second. Simply because he doesn't say alot, lets you ask questions but always the professional. "

"I was lucky in having a room away from the helicopter pad I was warned about. I had big windows with a wonderful view. All the staff were caring and cheerful. Each nurse is given a phone to carry with them and you are given that number so you can contact your nurse directly. I loved that. I had a problem with beeping of my IV machine that drove me crazy. They would comefix it everytime I called but it would start up again. Then my last day I had David as my nurse. I told him the problem and in 5 minutes he got me a new machine and had no more beeps. David is wonderful."
