Well today marks one year since my Lap Band and I never thought I would be where I am today. I've lost over 150 pounds and yesterday I was released from the hospital after having the extra skin removed from around my waist. I'm sitting here at home wrapped in bandages cut from hip to hip but I'm not complaining. Hope everyone is well and doing good.. 

Well in March it will be a year since my surgery and the surgeon's office called to let me know that I've got a date to have the Abdominoplasty done. How Ironic it happens to be the EXACT day a year later from my Band Surgery. I'm scared but excited to get this done, almost put it off but figured why wait till summer get it done so I can be healed and ready for summer. I'll check in and update more often. Sorry I've slacked alot..   

Wow didn't realize it's been close to a month since I've posted anything. Gotta remember to keep up with my on-line supporters :)
Well saw the Doc the other day. Down another 11 pounds in 3 weeks. Everything is going very well with my band and I'm very happy with my decision to get it ! Can't believe how different and good I feel with all the weight GONE ! My Blood pressure has been 134 / 84 , heart rate is 88 / 90. I am off almost all meds except for acid reflux meds, and gallbladder med. My insurance at this rate my insurance will recoup the cost of surgery in less then a year with the savings of not paying for all the drugs I was taking, that's over $1500 per month! I'm still 60 or so pounds away from goal but I have never been sooo happy. PC already started taking about getting rid of the extra skin which surprisingly isn't that much... LOVIN IT !  

So instead of writing everything I eat or do for exersise. I found this great web site that has and App for counting all your food, exercise and all. www.myfitnesspal.com  Check it out, I've been tracking my food intake and it breaks it all down for you.. 

 SAD NEWS - Please join me in remembering YET ANOTHER great icon of the entertainment community. The Pillsbury Dough Boy died yesterday of a yeast infection and trauma complications from repeated pokes to the belly. He was 71. Dough Boy is survived by his wife Play Dough, three children, John Dough, Jane Dough, and Dosey Dough, plus they had one in the Oven. Services were held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes.
 

Had 1cc added to my band this afternoon, so back on liquids for a couple days.. Dr say I'm doing wonderful and see him in 4 weeks. On a shitty note, I've gotta have a CT done to check for a Femoral Hernia  that my Primary said I had but not to worry about it ! Yeah OK, can't bike or walk without feeling like someone kicked me in the Nuts, thank GOD it doesn't fuck with the sex life or I would be fixing it myself! So the Dr said if it's there we'll fix it. Gotta wait 3 weeks for CT appointment in the mean time 7 pounds in just over 3 weeks. I couldn't be happier with my progress, slow and steady. Well time for Buddy Chat, Talk to you all later!   

So I went to the shoe store to find that I had even lost inches in my shoe's width, so I was going to treat myself to a new pair of shoes but DAYUM them things are expensive! I wasn't paying $145.00 for sneakers ( cheap ass me ) So I came home with my new measurements in hand and got on the trusty computer and I found THE BEST SHOE STORE They are a New Balance Factory dealer  www.aperfectdealer.com . If you are looking you gotta try this place out. I got 2 pair and free socks for $ 40. more than if I bought 1 pair. I ordered them night before last and they came ups 10 hours later. YES I'm VERY HAPPY !!  I went to the local REGULAR Mens store yesterday and bought some new pants that actually fit me, probably should have waited another month or two because I know I'm going down in sizes pretty quick. I see the Dr on Monday, time for another fill, I'm feeling GREAT, except for that extra skin under my chin and in the belly. Wish I could just cut it off myself, i would probably lose another 25 pounds if that was gone. Really it doesn't matter to me at 47 I'm thankful to be alive and healthy ! Well enough rambling. Wow, I can't believe that I am 2 months out time has flown by. I am due for a second fill this coming Monday, I can't wait because I know that I need to feel some restriction. So far I've been controlling what I eat pretty much on my own through will power and the DETERMINATION to want to succeed in my weight loss. I am very thankful to the few friends that are my major support and I communicate with from OH. I'm not sure exactly where I am on the scale because I will not buy a scale, but I can tell you this yesterday I went to buy new sneakers and when the AL BUNDY measured my foot I no longer needed the 6E width I can wear normal size sneakers now  WOOT WOOT! But to top that off I can now fit into a size XL Tee Shirt ( HOLY SHIT THAT'S AMAZING TO ME ) because I was wearing 5/6 XXXXXL Shirts. Truthfully I feel more comfortable in size XXL..
So now that I've lost all those inches, I've found that the Little Guy has gained a  few inches, damn thing has a mind of it's own!
I woke up the other morning and he was up before me and looking around the room, I'm still shocked that I can see him without looking in a mirror!!  LMAO    

 Well it's been one week since I've had my fill and things are going well, I think I could have used a little more in the band but the Dr is being cautious do to the problem I had after surgery.. So I am eating well but not over eating. I measure everything.
I eat 3 to 4 oz fish, chicken or meat, 1/4 cup starch's and 1/2 cup veggies.. no drinking 30 minutes after eating chew everything well! I am still drinking a shake for breakfast because it's 50 grams of protein and it gives me a nice boost to start the day. I am figuring out the head vs the stomach hunger, not an easy thing but I am getting it. Deserts are Sugar Free pudding about 1/4 cup, also I've got some Smoked Salmon spread that taste awesome on 2 or 3 whole wheat crackers. Easter was a little different, we had ham and all sorts of veggies so I had a sample plate of a teaspoon of everything along with my granddaughter, lol..    
 
 On another note ! I am very thankful for this board, and I am even more thankful to the friends I have made and look forward to meeting and making more. I have friends that have had all the different WLS that are out there. We encourage each other no matter what, because we all have one thing in common we all know what it's like to be treated like shit because we were or are obese or overweight or plain fat. I am sick and tired of the BAND BASHERS on this site, now once have I seen someone with a band telling someone with RNY, YOU SUCK, You got the wrong surgery or your going to fail. Maybe even your stomach's going to leak and your gonna get sick and have to have surgery again. No this doesn't happen! This is not aimed at any of my Friends, as I am just venting but I am sick of these people who are revisions from band saying it failed them, when truly they failed themselves, as it seems funny they get a revision but with the band they lost 150 lbs or even 100 then they say it stopped working. For once I would like to see someone post a recent study on our WLS's not some old study from 15 yrs ago and only 100 people in the study. To all the nay Sayers why not form a board where you can whine to each other all day long and continue to be miserable for the rest of your lives !
