I'm 36 and I'm an artist and crafter. I love sports of all kinds. I also love my home and gardens. I love to swim and socialize. I really love animals and I like helping others whenever I can.
I have PCOS, Diabetes, and Sleep Apnea.(And more.) I believe that getting this surgery will relieve me of a lot of pain and extend my life. Not to mention make it more enjoyable. At first I didn't believe in this surgery, but after 2 years of research and encouragement I feel completely different. My surgery date is Aug.23,2005 and I really can't wait. I feel like a great weight has been lifted from me (no pun intended, ok-maybe a little intended-I am a jokester too). This really has been a pain driven decision. When I first met with my surgeon he made me feel incredibly comfortable and satisfied all my questions. He also seems like a really nice fella'. Everyone at Barix was understanding and helpful. Not once have I called there and felt put off. Also, Dr. Medick performed my Psych Eval and he was just great. I never in my life saw a doctor and felt so validated. I anticipated something kinda' awful and again I was wrong. It was enlightening and informative and not a bad experience at all! Certainly not compared to doctor's I've had all my life. I think we all know how many doctor's make us feel. Every single person I have come in contact about this has been very sensitive. I feel like I've made an informed decision about improving my life. How freeing that feels!!!!
