My name is Taryn. I'm married with 2 girls. Like most people I have been overweight for MOST of my adult life. I started looking into weight lost surgery a couple of years ago but never really said that it was for me. So I did like most and started doing DIET AFTER DIET AFTER DIET...and got bored quickly, starving, obessing with the scale thing. I did Atkins in 2000-2001 and was doing great. At that time I was 225 and got down to 199 in less than 2 months and was feeling healthy and def. feeling better. But SURPRISE!! here comes baby number 2. At that time I was like enjoying being able to eat what I want and getting away with it. I blew up to around 285 and stayed there. Once I had A'Leah I tried for awhile to do Atkins again. But things wasn't going so well after I had the baby. So I gave up and said I guess I will be fat forever.. Of course I didn't keep that frame of thought and decided to try everything out there.. I only lost like 10-15 pounds of courses of months and decided I would do a diet every Monday. LOL... But I finally got serious about Lap-Band surgery in 2002-2003. I didn't actually do anything to move into that direction until 2006. I started really researching more and more into WLS.. well we moved from Memphis, Tn to Wilmington, NC- due to my husband job and then I said ok I've hit 307 pounds on my 5'3 1/2 frame..I was miserable and tired and depressed some what and decided now is the time. I'm 29 and want to be healthy and want to live for me and my family. I was looking at Dr.Miles for my surgery and it was the Lap-Band. But after 2 attempts of me taking them my package and it getting lost, I decided to go to another doctor. Dr. Harris. And the rest is in my blog.
