I am almost a year out now.  I have settled  down to 170 lbs and am holding.  I lost 80 lbs.

Pants are loose at size 32 waist, I could even squeeze into a size 30, but a little tight.

Now, I have to watch what I eat so I don't gain any back.

Maria, my wife, surprised me with some new clothes for Valentine's Day...including size 32 waist pants.

They fit!!!!!!

I am so excited to be wearing size 32 again!

New picture is taken, just need to get it to fit.  OBhelp makes it a little difficult to put a large file in for a picture.

Well, I am officially at the 6 month mark.  I weigh 175 (down 75 lbs) and boy does it feel good.  I have 10lbs to go to be officially "not overweight" at 25 BMI.

I am fitting in size 33 waist now-even these seem a little loose.  Will I get to a 32?  I haven't been in a 32 since probably high school!

I am going to need new clothes for spring.

I know, I need to udpate my picture!

Wow, I haven't posted in a long time!  I am now 4 months out.  Weight is down almost 70lbs!  I am 15 lbs from the high end of "normal" on the BMI charts.

I feel good, am wearing a size 34 waist now!  I haven't been in this size for a very long time.  I gave away all my "fat" clothes so I will never go back!

Weight loss has slowed, but I am still losing.

I have gone below 200lbs!  I am at 197lbs.  That is down 53lbs.

I have stopped using my CPAP, don't know if this is great or not, but I feel pretty rested.  I have stopped using Prilosec!  No more GERD.  I have stopped taking one of my medicines for restless leg syndrome and periodic limb movement disorder.

Exercise is the key!  I walked double the amount yesterday and lost 1lb.

I seem to be at a slow down weight wise and experiencing some wooziness all of a sudden.

I posted on the boards and will probably up my calories a bit and up my protein to see what happens and check with the doc.

I am hovering around the -50 lb mark, which also crosses the 200 lb mark, both milestones for me.  I really want to be under 200 (I am only 5'-8"). About 35 lbs to my ideal weight.

I have lost 20-3/4 inces off my body in just about every place, feels good!

Feeling good!  Down 44 lbs!

Yesterday, I ate bits and pieces of an oatmeal cookie.  Didn't feel too good after that, but didn't necessarily dump either.  I was thinking I really blew it, but when I put it in perspective, I only had a total of 1 cookie.  I would have eaten 6-8 or more cookies before.  I am finding that I can tolerate sugar and fat pretty well.  Hmmm.. have to watch that.

Pants and shirts are looking a little more baggy.  Especially my butt, I lost it pretty much.  No more moobs though (man boobs).

Need to find some way to exercise during the colder months.  I love walking now, but I need something more.

Today is my birthday!  It is nice to be 43 and be slimming down.  40.8 lbs lost as of this morning.

I am in my second week back to work.  I read my operation manual and discovered that I was feeling "hibernation syndrome".  I guess at about 3-4 weeks your body starts slowing itself down because it is not getting the food it is used to.  That is the reason to exercise, to get the metabolism back up.  I feel pretty good now, but I do get tired by the end of the day.  My overall energy is up though.

Another small (but major to me) milestone is that I can swallow pills whole now!  That makes a huge difference now that I am on my vitamins.  I HATED splitting my pills and gagging down the pieces!

I am on regular foods now.  It is nice to feel like I can eat like normal people, just a lot less.  My wife and I split a meal at a restaurant over the weekend and we still had tons leftover.

I am in size 36 pants now, down from 40.  I tried on a large (not extra large) shirt today and it fits!  Good thing I have some skinny clothes left in my closet.

Most people are noticing my weight loss in my face and belly.  I don't have to hold my breath when I bend over, or tie my shoes.  Feels good.  Also, not one problem with my lower back!  I can sleep good and not wake up stiff.  My mid-back seems to be adjusting to the weight differential, but it isn't giving me issues like my lower back used to.

I have also noticed that I don't need to wear my CPAP all the time.  My wife hasn't noticed me snoring.  It is nice to not to have to put that mask on.

My wife is also losing again.  She has lost about 10 lbs in the last month, for a total of about 180lbs!

I go back to work tomorrow.  Down 36 lbs!

I am not sure how I will do, energy wise.  I posted on the board, and I guess it is normal to still feel "woozy".  Problem is, I feel like it is getting worse.  I am feeling woozy quite a bit.  I know my body is adjusting to the surgery and to not eating very much, but I haven't been able to walk the past couple of days because of being exhausted.

Yesterday, I put my son's bed together and carried the old bed parts to the basement.  Only a couple of light headboards and a box-spring thing.  Not very heavy at all.  That wiped me out and I almost needed a nap.

I feel more like I am getting weaker and not stronger.  No pain, no nausea and I am keeping up on my fluids.  What gives?

Getting up at 4:30 doesn't sound exciting, an I am worried about my energy level at work tomorrow.  I am glad that I don't have a physically demanding job.

I went for my first Dr. follow up yesterday.  My "punctures" on my tummy are healing just fine.  He said to keep on going and that I am doing great!

Today, it was finally a great weather day.  About 75, sunny, no humidity, and a slight cool breeze!  I spent most of the morning sitting outside.

I started my pureed foods today.  I mixed refried fat-free beans with some milk, fat-free sour cream and some shredded cheddar cheese.  It tasted just like  a burrito!  I also took some of the shredded BBQ chicken and added some water, a scoop of beneprotein and pureed it.  It was very good too.  I was able to move up to 3 TBS as a meal.

Down 27lbs so far.  Feels good.  I was wondering if I would look younger or older if I lost weight.  When you see the "before and after" pictures, sometimes they look way older and sometimes way younger.

I have lost some weight in my face.  Dr. Baker said, "Hey, you have a jawline!".  I think I am looking younger.
