Good Luck!!!!! You'll be in my prayers

RitaJean 22 years, 7 months ago

I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright. I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more. I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive. I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger. I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting. I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess. I wish you a speedy recovery and a welcome to the losing side Kathy

Thank you for all the support, prayers and tips. I really appreciate them, and they help me remember I'm not alone in this! I have completed all my pre-op testing and am on the pre-op diet my doctor requires (down about 10# so far). I think the diet helps to psychologically prepare me for what is soon to be my lifestyle. I'm already sick of protein drinks though! Although I think it has been a good idea to experiment with them a little bit....and I know what works now might not after surgery next week! I have been frantically working to prepare my work/home/family for my recovery time, and its amazing how God keeps throwing me "lifelines" to help make this happen! I know it's what God wants for me too, so that gives me confidence!

Hello Kathy - Congratulations on your upcoming surgery! My humble advice? Walk as much as possible after surgery. As your body begins to heal make sure to get in your protein, even if it means plugging your nose and chugging back the protein drinks in baby [pouch] gulps. Vitamins need to be chopped, minced or crushed... whatever it takes to get them in daily, no exceptions, YOU are worth it. Also, let's not forget your new best(est) friend, water. It is SO important to get your minimum 64 oz in daily. One final thing, CELEBRATE all the special moments along the way, big or small. Too many people focus only on numbers, ie. pounds lost. There are so many "moments" to look forward to and embrace on this journey - don't let any of them slip by. Enjoy your new healthier life, you've more then earned it!! NOTHING tastes as good as thin feels!! ....Hugs and smiles : )
