Monica P.
Hello everyone. My name is Monica and I have 3 children. 2 girls 3 & 10 and a boy 6. My weight issues really started when I started working at Checkers Drive thru botfriend (husband now). We worked there for over a year and when you are at a fast food job that long you usually get whatever you want so we lived and breathed Checkers. I gained 30-40 there which brought me to 190 and I swore that I would never hit 200. Well never ginx yourself like that because no later did I say that I founded out I was pregnant. I graduated June 2, 1997, got married July 4 and had our daughter August 6, 1997. So needless to say it was a busy FAT 3 months. To make thing worse my husband was afraid to tell his mom I was pregnant so at 7 months pregnant when we told her she said she just thought I was getting fatter from Checkers...nice. At that point I gained 40lbs during my pregnancy and surpassed the 200 mark. My biggest problem was I NEVER attempted to lose the weight. I stayed home with the baby and watched TV. So I stayed that weight until I got pregnant in 2001, then I gained another 30lbs once again never loosing it. And with my last pregnany I made it to 294. I am currently at 266 but in the last year I was down to 227 and have gained back which is why I think this surgery is the only thing to help me. I feel that this will make me healthier, more confident and more energetic.
